Most Worshipful Paul Earl Tederick, Grand Master of Masons of West Virginia in 1983
visits Kempsville Lodge No. 196 on May 31, 1983.

Brother George Fausel visits Kempsville Lodge in June of 1983. Brother Fausel
would affiliate with Kempsville Lodge in 1989 and
serve as Worshipful Master of Atlantic Lodge No. 2 in 2009.

Brother Ronnie Hudson visits Kempsville Lodge in October of 1983.
Brother Hudson would go on to serve as Worshipful Master of Lynnhaven Lodge No. 220 in 2006.
Obituary
Thomas McGowan, USN Ret. was born the last of 13 children to Thompson and Jennie McGowan on July 22nd
1929.
After retiring from the US Navy, he entered Civil Service and served as a Fuels Officer at Oceana Naval Air
Station. Tom was a 42nd degree Mason, a recreational pilot, and a world traveler. A lover of history and
poetry, he always had a story or a song worth sharing and lived life large.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas and David; two daughters, Gail and Susan; three grandchildren, Kelly,
Reilly and Baillie; and a great granddaughter, June. Father. Philosopher. Friend. He will be missed.
