Notable Visitor

Brother Steve McGowan visits Kempsville Lodge in February of 1993. Brother McGowan go on to serve as Worshipful Master of Berkley Lodge No. 167 in 1997, District Deputy Grand Master of the 36th Masonic District in 2011, and serve as the Grand Pursuivant of the Grand Lodge of Virginia in 2014.
No stranger to Kempsville Lodge, having visited many times as a DeMolay, Worshipful Brother Matt Szramoski visits in February of 1993 as the Worshipful Master of Yorktown Lodge No. 205 in Yorktown, PA. Brother Matt would later serve as the Grand Chaplain of the Grand Lodge of Virginia in 2014.
Worshipful Brother Charles "Chuck" Fraley, Past Master of Corinthian Lodge No. 266, visits Kempsville Lodge in March of 1993. Brother Fraley would go on to serve as Potentate of Khedive Shrine in 2000 and as District Deputy Grand Master of the 36th Masonic District in 2014.

Obituary

Dennis Robert Harrison, 72, passed away on March 29, 2015. Mr. Harrison was born in Junction City, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Harrison. He retired from the U.S. Navy after twenty years of service as a Chief Petty Officer and a Viet Nam Veteran who served aboard the U.S.S. Repose as a Corpman. After retiring from the U.S. Navy Mr. Harrison served as personnel manager for Allied Towing. He was a Past Master of the Kempsville Masonic Lodge, Khedive Shriner Band and was a member of the Little Creek Chapel. Survivors include his mother Marie Scott Harrison, his loving wife of fifty-two years, Carolyn Bianchi Harrison, three children Richard Michael Harrison and wife Patricia Ann, Jennifer Lorene Harrison and Darren Ray Harrison. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015, 11:00a.m. at Smith & Williams Kempsville Chapel. Mr. Harrison was a kind and gentle spirit whom will be missed by all that knew him.
